our new helper...

(Mr Alan Pitt enjoying a little more relaxed cutting at the Hall)

I've literally been chained to my cutting board as Christopher and other tailors have been enjoying their holidays. Sorry I've been so quiet. No, I haven't emigrated to a land without technology or internet. But at the end of the day, cutting's my first business.

We're steadily getting through things, so hopefully a holiday may even be mine this year. If you're wondering who is the young chap cutting at the board in the photo above, don't worry, he's pretty competent.

In fact, until earlier this year he was the Senior Cutter at Anderson & Sheppard. He is, of course, Mr. Alan Pitt. Alan retired early this year and moved up here to Cumbria. I do keep telling you how it works its magic on people.

Alan will kindly help us out here at Warwick Hall when I'm traveling, and also keep an eye on Christopher whilst I'm away. Although he's retired, this is a profession that you can only do if you enjoy it, which he does, and very much. So he helps out here occasionally.

It's funny how Warwick Hall seems to attract ex-Anderson & Sheppard tailors like a magnet. Now there's Paul, myself and Alan. And if we need a bit more input, My former partner, Edwin of Steed is just a couple of miles away. When we go to our village pub on a Friday, it often feels like I'm back in London.

( I get the MG's roof down sometimes)

We've nearly been drowned here by the rain. Oh well, it stops us us busy tailors from being tempted away to frolic in our lovely summer countryside.
