greetings from america

[Me holding a piece of tailor's chalk. Shaped roughly like a guitar pick, I use it for marking the lines on the cloth before cutting.]
[UPDATE- 23rd October: Lucy and I had a fantastic trip this time round; thanks to everybody who came to meet us. We fly back home on Monday the 24th, and we look forward to coming back to America in January/February 2006. Thanks again.]
Lucy and I landed safely at Chicago's O'Hare airport last night. I'm meeting clients in the U.S. for the next week and a half, starting here in Chicago, then off to San Francisco and New York.
If you wish to make an appointment while I'm over, it's probably easiest just to phone me on my mobile:

Speaking of visiting tailors, my friend Jonathan Quearney, an excellent London tailor, is visiting New York next week, Wednesday-Friday, October 19th-21st (He is also staying at The Benjamin, which is my usual hotel). He offers these wonderful Made-To-Measure suits, with prices around the £700 mark (i.e. about one-third of bespoke prices). We're not connected in terms of business, but we tailors like to support each other, so I hope you might consider his services. Details are on his website here. Thank you.
